4x4 Petrol/Diesel

I'm looking at getting an older Shogun for towing. Should I get a petrol or diesel-does it make a big difference?

Diesel - More mpg and less expensive to service.

I tow with a swb 2.5 td p reg shogun. It's copes, but I find it slightly underpowered. If you get the chance go for a 2.8, there's no real difference in mpg.

Diesel engines have more torque than petrol which means they can tow better .

Unless you will be doing over 30,000 miles a year dDisel is no longer worth the extra money. I would head Petrol if you are on a low mileage!
