Anyone have any suggestions? So far I like the Hyundai Santa Fe the best, anyone got one of these??

I'm considering selling my Renualt Master box (even though I love it

) because now I'm concentrating on breeding it's just not getting the use it should really, and getting a trailer instead.

So looking for a good towing vehicle but also something that's diesel and no bigger than 2.5, I don't want it to cost the earth to run etc. I have a flexible budget but ideally under 5k, and again ideally I'd want something newer than 2000....

Any suggestions welcomed

Kia Sorento - I have one and it's fantastic! Haven't towed much in it yet but it's been towcar of the year for many years so can't be all bad. It'll tow an 850kg trailer plus 450kg horse without batting an eyelid. BUT you might struggle to get one that cheap as I think they only started making them in 2003 or 2004.

Moonwalker has a Santa Fe - she'll be able to tell you about them, I think she likes hers!

I've got the Ford Maverick 2.4, which is basically the Nissan Terrano with a Ford badge. Not towed with it myself but friend and OH have and they say its tows really well. It is my only vehicle as well and doesn't do bad on fuel, mines a P reg so quite old now but mechanic who did MOT said that these engines go on forever.

I have had Shoguns for years - currently got an 02 reg Shogun sport - oodles of room and best towing vehicle have ever had. I also do v high milage for work so have to use it for all purposes - drives like a car, 2.5l diesel, I get 28 miles per gallon on average and she is great. I am just about to sell her and get another (newer) one - PM me if you want details. Have FSH etc.

I tow an Ifor 510 with a XL warmblood.

Nissan Terrano - brilliant towers and now quite cheap. Comfortable to drive too, although the 2.7Td is best.

I totally agree with the above statement, fabulous car, and I'll get another when the time comes.
