4x4 & trailer breakdown cover.

Hi all
Looking to get my 4x4 & trailer covered before i go out anywhere, but i have the stupidest question! Have heard good reviews about Anthony D Evans , but if the car broke down say on the way to the shops (!) is it covered? Or does it have to have a trailer attatched!? Or do i have to cover the car with say th RAC, then do the trailer somwhere else to get everything covered?!
Also- I have a bateson Ascot trailer, when i hitch it up, am I meant to lock the trailer onto the car? Have heard loads of conflicting things.
All help appreciated! x
 
I always wondered about this - does the insurance also cover horse recovery should the vehicle or trailer be unable to continue?
 
Apologies for not being able to answer the question directly, but why not ask the provider or check the policy wording?

The NFU policy I have covers the trailer and both vehicles whether the trailer is being towed or not.

Be careful when looking at 'standard' breakdown policies. Many have a clause buried deep in the small print which says they will not even attend an incident if anything larger than a cat, dog or hamster is being carried.
 
I have RAC for the car and then paid the extra £45 to go with PRP through the RAC to have the trailer/horses too.

I think if not towing I still call the RAC directly, only call PRP if horses with me AFAIK
