5-6t lorries

ive been looking for a while now with not an awful lot of luck. plenty out there is you have a larger budget - I would say peper harow builds are one of my favourites.

Thanks georgiegirl - I'm glad its not me being blind. The main reason I was looking at the 5-6t was for the payload to take 2 horses - which does happen occasionally - and would only be my friends horse. I'm starting to think that my friend may just have to sort out her own transport and I will get a 3.5t!!

what sort of budget have you got to spend? you will need to bear in mind plating costs which come up a little bit more expensive than mots (£90 for plating plus anything that needs doing) although the tax is no different. Plus costs of c1 driving test if you need to do that?

We are on a quite modest budget and for most part will be taking one but after viewing a few 3.5tonners a lot seem to be overpriced for what they are although I guess it reflects the current market as they are popular!

After viewing a few we have decided we want to go slightly bigger and hence have widened our search to up to 6.5 ton and you do seem to get an awful lot more for your money and the safety factor is a big plus.

Theres a tidy enough looking iveco 6ton just gone up on ebay for 4k based in glos which if it wasnt so far away would be on my hitlist to go and view!

Budget wise - up to £20k max really - but would prefer to spend around £15k :).

Plating costs - not a worry - I have a 7.5t at the moment, but am looking to downsize. And did my HGV about 10 years ago :) :)

Yes I quite agree that the 3.5t are expensive for what they are really. I suppose the demand is so much higher for them now as there are ever increasing people who aren't able to drive over 3.5t without doing more tests.

I've been looking on horsemart again today - and considering that pretty much everywhere is a REALLY long way away from Cornwall, I figured that travelling to get a box is going to have to be done, so looking countrywide. But there really doesn't seem to be any 5-6t boxes on there! I'm almost thinking that I might just get another 7.5t :S

well if your budgeting to that amount I really would recommend giving the people at peper harow a call there boxes are really beautifully made and the horse areas are fantastic.
