5 amp or 13 amp?

Half way through clipping Trixie yesterday the clippers died - after the initial panic, I calmed down and thought to check the fuse. I was very surprised to find it was a 5 amp fuse. Not having one of those I replaced it with a 13 amp - is this right?

if the 5 amp was what it came with, replace it with another 5 amp. it's for your and the horse's safety for their to be a lower cut out point and much less chance of getting a shock, i think...

I agree with Kerilli, I think they should have a 5 amp fuse.

my clippers , liveryman mustang , have 3 amp , i wouldn't go above a 5

It is probably going to be a 5 Amp, so replace with like fuse. But!!! why did it go? Check your mains lead for kinks/breaks/stamps etc. Before attempting to use. Also check the reset switch on the clipper (Most have one fitted) Let me know what model if you have further trouble.

My plug is sealed though so not sure how I get into it to change the fuse.

Right no not on mine sadly. Off to try buy a new cord tomorrow to see if the fixes my problem
