5 month old lame foal

I have a 5 month old lame foal, she has not swelling or heat. Its in the front leg and she is lame in walk... any ideas?

She is out with a 16 month filly, if she was kicked by her wouldn't she have swelling? or she could have slipped over in the field, I was at the yard all day yesterday and didnt see anything that would have caused it but she got worse through out the day and is still lame today...

I'd call out the vet, it may be nothing or it might require bo rest for it to heal, best not to take chances with foals, their growing so fast and you can't risk it getting worse or becoming permnent

I agree, with a foal it's best to err on the side of caution. I would get the vet to have a look at her.

Definately call your vet ASAP.
We see the odd abcess in foal feet at this time of year, so hopefully it is just that.
I recommend you take it's temperature as well.
