It's now 5 months since I got zazou. Today Markus Bauer rode her for the lesson.

She is coming on really nice and can't believe the difference in her, really really pleased with this little mare.

Still working on the basics, getting her bending , flexing, lots of transitions and change of rein.

The canter is getting there, transitions are still a bit rushed at times but each month there seems to be a improvement .

Her is a wee photo and video from today

Wow, she looks fab :)

Really interested in your routine with her, it's obviously working well! Is your instructor on site?

Hi thanks.

No Instructor on site , I get weekly lessons on her. A friend rides her two days a week schooling, she is a fab rider and has competed up to inter 1/2. Her help and input is worth it's weight in gold. She was a brood mare backed last year, I got her in Oct , green as grass, I think in 5 months she come along fab, not rushing her though just progressing at her pace. The canter took a few months, she would panic and grab the bit and run off in a flap. Got her cantering out a hack on a loose rein first to let her see it was not scary and find her balance.

So on average she is school 4 days a week, 2 by me and 2 by friend . Then 1 long hack normally about 2 hours. Also 1 lunge, 1 day off. I'd say that's a typical week for zazou.

Does the odd bit of jumping too.

She's lovely :) I'm working through the canter with my 5yr old, he used to poke his head up and run through the transitions but in the last week I think we've cracked it.

Yeah that's what she did, while grabbing bit and basically buggering off in a panic, left came quite quick, right took a few months. She still jumps up a bit into the canter but it's slowly getting better. It feels good though when things suddenly click.
