Having just had the saddler to my boy it looks like we may have accidentally chosen the more expensive option of a brand new Ideal Grandee saddle :o or at least hes bringing one on Friday for me to have a sit on etc..

Anyway, what with all the new tack i'm looking to get a new breast plate and was quite interested in the 5-point one as with Chalky it seems that no matter how tight you do the girth, one jump and the saddles about half a meter further back than where you originally put it :D but my saddler said that i'd look much more the part on the hunting field with a typical elasticated hunting breast plate...

What are your reviews and opinions on each?

Thanks in advance..

5 point breastplate everytime it saved me from very serious damage when like an idiot i forgot to tighten my girth properly and my saddle slipped round spooking the horse as it set of at gallop the saddle only slipped enough to tip me out rather than sliding a lot further round as it would have done with a standard breastplate!!

Depends where you hunt - round here its more of a fashion accessory most of the time.
Im sure a new saddle will help - but why not - if it fits well, and keeps you safe, who has right to comment!!!
