52 TB's needing to be rehomed urgently

My niece sent me a text about this. She had seen it on facebook, posted by a head vet who she knows personally. I am not sure if it's genuine but will post it here in case anyone can help if it is indeed genuine.

52 thoroughbred horses need homes. Will go to slaughter this saturday. Gentleman has died and his son wants nothing to do with horses. Most broodmares, broken in and some foaling/weaning, 2-3 yrs old, most geldings free. Contact Chett Wallace ****.

i have been told its a scam too! beware!
