5yr old growing sooo fast... ???

I have a 5yr old appaloosa, who barely touched 14hh when i bought him as a 4 yr old last march. He felt kind of small when i tried him, and I was unsure whether he was quite big enough for me, or if he would grown much more, not being very leggy at all. He grew outwards first, then up, then out a bit more, then up again. Less than 12 months later he measures over 14.2, with no withers.

He'll be 6 in June, daft question but is that standard? I'd have thought his growing would have slowed down by now, but he's like a beansprout!

My horse was 16.3hh at 5 and by 7 had reached 17.2hh so they can keep growing after 5.

I am still considering a horse that is 5 and is 16.3hh at present...and chunky too..

He may be bigger now as everyone thinks he has grown but we haven't been able to measure him.

I bought my girl towards the end of her 4yo year advertised as 16.1, she'll be 6 in March and keeps growing.

She's 16.3 so praying she doesn't get any bigger!

Her passport said she should make 16.0hh

Every time I would take her out the first comment from people who knew her was "omg, she's grown again!"

I could ubnderstand it in a younger horse, or a bigger one, but 2" in 9 months, when he was only a pony seems a lot, not such a little weed any more lol
