6 weeks with my odd-coloured horse

On Tuesday I will have had Finlay for 6 weeks. So far, I am thrilled with him. He's not even 2 yet, and is so placid and chilled out. We did have a few tantrums at first, but touch wood we're over that! Hopefully we'll be doing a couple of in-hand shows this summer. Plaiting up practice next weekend...
Here he is this evening, please excuse his muddy feet - I don't bother to hose them off!!
By the way, he is a full ID who I intend to generally have fun on, and do a bit of everything with. Any colour experts out there, I'd love to know what you make of him! Or just anyone for that matter - I think he is luvverly! I'd say he was standing at 15.2ish at the moment.

I won't mind if he does go grey! However the lady I bought him from had a picture of him last summer and last winter and he was exactly the same colour, even down to the strange white spots which made me think maybe he will stay this way. He is down as "roan" on his passport, which was done when he was a foal. Ah well, nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks he is fab!

The grey in my sig was born a chestnut. She is dark dappled now but still has chestnut freckles and patches.

I think he will go dark grey too but my friends pony is a chestnut and she had the odd white spot and but now has more and more, her mum had white spots too.

I think he'll go grey too, look at his mane?

A lot of foals start off chestnut and then turn any colour under the sun, and greys start off black or brown.

Would be lovely if he stayed that colour as it's very unusual and very eye catching.

He is by Welcome Flagmount (grey). His dam is called Reaska Applause (grey) who is by Huntingfield Rebel (grey).

I've just looked that up, so it seems as though those grey odds are pretty high! Flagmount Welcome was by Flagmount King (bay). And his dam was out of a bay mare, so you never know. I promise to update this post next summer!
