Does anyone have any idea of chassis prices? Im looking to have a new lorry built and could do with an idea of price. Im thinking DAF or MAN and 2000 or newer.

for a typical 2000 plate expect to pay around 4.5 - 5K + VAT.

try your local MAN / DAF dealership as they will have been fleet maintained and well looked after and will have history with them.

Ryder trucks have a good amount of vehicles coming off and again are fleet maintained with full history.

please remember that you need to be looking at a chassis at euro 3 emmissions - which many of 2000 plate are not and would have to be upgraded to meet new legislation ( ask for a price for the emissions upgrade)and pass MOT,

buy as new a chassis as you can possibly afford, and you will find this vehicle much easier to sell on. I would tend to be looking at chassis at 2003 plate and above,

Thanks for that. Do you agree Man or Daf are best to go for? My Iveco is a bit light on the steering.

We made a mistake with current lorry, built 2 years ago but on G reg Iveco, looks like we'll loose a fair bit on it. Shame 'cos it a great lorry but we need larger living.

Pathelschoice - love your lorries. Wish I could afford one!

glad you like the lorries , to be honest there is not much to choose between the MAN and DAF chassis, they are both really good reliable vehicles - if choosing MAN the go for the LE ( newer shape) and it would have to be the 155 ( 150 BHP). the DAF is excellent tooo, The LF looks great with the build on and I would choose either the LF 150 or 170 - the 180 is great but a bit heavier because its 6 cylinder. PM me if you want me to source some prices for you.
