Just thought I'd drop a quick post in case anyone has seen these or is missing any ponies this morning. Have just driven along the A58 Leeds to Wetherby road and noticed 3 ponies on a field by the road that is not securely fenced/hedged all round - it is essentially a football pitch. The field is right next to the A58 so a pretty busy road. I have reported them to the police and they told me they have already been made aware of them and been up this morning but there were originally 7 ponies altogether so now they are trying to find the 4 that have gone walkabout!!!
Looks like a case of them having been dumped but thought I'd post in case any one is missing any horses in the area this morning! There are no travellers around at the minute to my knowledge but certainly the ponies I've seen look like typical gypsy types (2 coloured, one bay) so would appear they've just been abandoned.
As said the police are aware and are dealing with it but I am not sure what they intend to do with them.
I feel I should have stopped now but I was a fair few miles down the road til I thought "hmm, that's odd, ponies being on that field"!
So, if anyone is aroud that area, please be on the look aout for 4 wandering ponies!
