762 miles to see one horse I am mad!!!!

We are off tomorrow night from the north east of scotland to blackpool to ILPH penny farm to see a horse for my mum!!! we are setting off at 11 o'clock tomorrow night and driving down over night to blackpool. Its 381.2 miles there am mad!!!!

got to be!!!. I've never been out of scotland and now some how my mum has got me driving her down to blackpool ( we're sharing the driving). we are going to see a 18.1hh bay gelding he's a ex-police horse and sounds perfact for my mum if a little big!!!!

Is there anything interesting between the scottish border and blackpool?
Has anyone been to Penny farm?

can you tell I don't have a clue what am letting myself into?

i went from NE SCOTLAND, where are you? I am in Angus, anyway i went all the way to London (Bucks area) i flew there though and finally found my Rupert in Liverpool!

the miles were worth it!
 
We traveled around 1000km (round trip, sorry can't work in miles any more!) just to see my horse, 6 hours in the car, had sore bum at the end! But we went up to see one and came home with 2 so well worth the trip! Hope he is the right horse, sounds HUGE!

You never know I might end up with two just don't tell my mum!!!! its going to take 6 and a half hours. i don't know how am going to sit still for that long, got all my horse magazines ready!!!!

I live just down the Road from Penny Farm, have been there quite a few time! I drive past on the way to work everyday! Its a great place with fantastic facilities and they do a wonderful job. We have two horses on our yard from there.

Hopefully it will be worth the drive! What else would you be looking to do when you get here? Where are you staying?

Something horsey maybe? any good tack shops? I've heard that theirs a Zoo. we are NOT staying we are driving home again ohhh I forget to tell you that!!

Is Penny Farm the ILPH place that I see signs for when I am taking the dogs to st annes dunes? Not to far off M55? I am SURE I have seen a sign?
 
Yep, know the one your talking about. There is an RSPCA centre aswell not too far.........fancy a cat, dog or bird to go along with the horse? Might aswell whilst your down here!! Haha.

There are a couple of local tack shops. Not too sure how many horses are at penny farm, think there was 30 odd last time I visited, maybe more. The Zoo is only about 3 or 4 miles away Bet you can't wait! Hmm, something horsey to do? You could come and visit mine??
 
I went from Surrey to North West Highlands to look at a horse! We flew, but if I'd driven it was 520 miles each way. I did buy her too....
