Advice please ….. I have a big 6yr old warmblood who we have found out to have uneven hind quarter muscle resulting from a asymmetrical pelvis. He became slightly choppy behind and got recommend we x ray his back that came back clear. Vet advised with correct work that this will become significantly better and not stop him from working. I've now been given the all clear that he's doing really well and in a much better place. Although the vet said hock injections might be worth doing as he's been overcompensating for so long on his weaker side just to keep him going comfortably. I cannot ride due my to my own medical issues and am unsure of what to do with him. I don't want to sell him as I worry he could be sold around or people may not be honest in the future about his past. Could I potentially put him out on full loan. I would be happy to financially help and pay for all existing conditions including physio and saddle checks ect to keep him comfortable. He's got a lot to give and could make someone really happy just unsure of what to going forward. Would this set up Ever work he thrives off a routine and work.

Yeah you absolutely could with a contract in place and visits to make sure all was well - the BHS has a loan contract template

Or even a part loan/share from the same yard so you can keep an eye and keep doing things on the ground maybe

What did they say caused the asymmetry out of curiosity? Was it something he was born with or something like a field accident?

he had a accident as a yearling so most likely caused from this is what the vet was thinking.

Thank you for replying this is helpful and will definitely look into them both. I was just worried a lot of people would be automatically turned off him due to his past. Also trying to find someone who is experienced enough to understand what work he needs going forward almost seems impossible with out bringing in a professional.
