We've had Beau for 3 weeks now.
We were also having problems getting him to stand while we mounted and he would shoot off the minute your bum was in the saddle. This usually resulted in an unplanned dismount.
Well, I don't want to speak too soon, but today he stood like an angel and let us get on and off without trying to run away.
I've changed his bit back to a D-ring snaffle with a french link and he's much more responsive.
I need to get used to him and the new saddle before we start jumping but will hopefully start that next week.
So, some pictures.
He wasn't impressed when I brought him in early, hence the grumpy face. He's put on a bit of weight.
my dad.
and, finally, me.
