I'm planning to sell my 16hh ISH 6yr old mare but not sure when! At the moment she's competed up to 3'3 cross country and ODE (5th in her first at 3'3 at Isleham) and showjumped up to Newcomers (on a ticket) and qualified for Trailblazers 1.05 final. She's not a novice ride but is a fun ride, needs a solid routine as can weave. She's out of a Diamond Rock mare but sire is unknown. She's good to hack and with traffic but is sharp. Flat work is good, consistently working forward in an outline, got basic lateral work starting half pass and doing changes. Good to box and shoe. How much do you think she would be worth now?

This is her jumping 1.10 open on a ticket:

Or, I will keep her for another 12 months, register BSJA this year and potentially take her up to Foxhunter. Register BE next year and potentially take her to novice. She's got a lot of scope and is really brave and confident so if we can avoid injury (fingers crossed, touch wood!!) I could sell her next year with money and points on her record. This is her showing off her scope!!

What I need to know is, is it worth putting the extra time and money into her for the return, or do I sell now?

Thank you very much for your help!!!

I think you wouldn't get a huge amount for her now without be points or bsja winnings even if she is jumping them on a ticket. I think though depending on her weaving you may have trouble getting much for her in a years time, but you would get more with a good record behind her.

Do you enjoy riding her? I, personally, if I could afford to would take her out and about for another year and let it be known that she's up for sale, without neccessarily putting up adverts. There's bound to be someone on the scene who falls in love with her; she has scope to spare and sounds a very nice girl and if you have fun with her then other people will want to, also.

I am sure people will think I'm a couple of grand too high, but in my area a serious potential sportshorse is £6k upwards, even in this financial climate. Shame you don't know her sire!

ETA - I meant her current value is 6k (+) btw, if that wasn't clear. The estimates you've got in CR seem about right - NL price estimates are normally on the low side IMO.

She looks a cracker.

I agree with Annret about pricing though, I personally wouldn't market her for less than £6k. If you could register her and get some winnings or results on her card her value would potentially go up, providing she does well of course!

if anyone offered me £4500 + for her now i would take it, at end of day 2moro she could injure herself and you will make no money on her at all so i wud def take money if it came along!
