...to all you wonderful HHOers for the support you gave me for the charity challenge I completed on March 10th!
I am JenHunts OH, the one that did a XC gallop and days hunting bareback to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Help for Heroes (the last thread on it is here - http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=521559)
I know Jen posted a ridiculous number of times keeping you updated on my training, and posted photos of me jumping the wonderful Ron bareback. So many of you commented, sometimes just to give me encouragement, sometimes commenting on my jumping and you were all so amazingly supportive! Im my own biggest critic, I know Im still a bit of a novice really, and I know I could have jumped Ron much better, but to hear so many MUCH more experienced people say how well I was doing gave me a huge amount of confidence. I loved reading what you had to say over Jens shoulder (before I finally got myself registered!), and it helped me believe I could pull it off.
More importantly, all those of you that donated need to be thanked, and Id love to do so individually when I find the time (though I wont necessarily know who you are from your justgiving donations as I dont know which real name goes with which HHOer!). You are the ones that have actually made the difference, supporting the two fantastic charities Ive only done something to encourage you to donate, youve stumped up the money. So the biggest, most deeply felt 'thank you' goes to you guys and girls.
But I do want to publicly thank Jen, for being so many things a wonderful, supportive wife; a calm and constructive critic of my riding; and for letting me loose on the utterly brilliant Ron to do the challenge! It means a huge amount, because the gallop and last day of the season are always something special, and she gave up her horse so I could go and do something really silly! I guess a lot of you already know how brilliant both Jen and Ron are, but if any of you didnt know, youve no excuse now! Two simple facts Ron is a legend, and Jen is lovely
I promise well both stop badgering you all for sponsorship very soon (though if you havent donated, why not?!); hopefully an article will appear in tomorrows H&H, please have a read and pass the message on as well. After that, I think Ill get back in my box and stick to being an OH....
Thanks everyone!
