My horse has had some issues with loading recently after he decided that rearing up as he was going in a box was a really good idea and he hit his head hard on the framework so I had a lady called suzanne marshall come out to help. She worked with him for nearly four hours and I have left my yard tonight with a far more confident animal(obv still work to do though) . She was so friendly and immediately put me and the ned at ease . She picked up on alot of little things that he does that I have neve been able to connect together and now things seem to make more sense . Apperently (in the nicest possible way) he is one of the strangest horses she has worked with . I am not sure if she comes on here but she has helped me today more than she realises and I can't say thank you enough to her

It really strange - he has always been a really polite horse and always very aware of himself - I hate to say it but almost too good to be true !! When we were working with him today he just totally shut down and it was almost like there was nobody home - she said most horses react in someway eg rearing up ,spinning away etc but he just stood there with this really blank expression - not normal or healthy for a horse to do - so we started lookign back through his history and have come to the conclusion that this behaviuor is his coping mechanism for stressful situations - which explains some of his other behaviour - can't believe how much I have learnt today about my own horse !

It's amazing isn't it! I had Suzanne out to mine about 3 months ago. She also spent 4 hours with us - and like you I thought it was too good to be true! I have huge respect for her, and I almost felt I should have paid more at the end!

Best money I ever spent!

I know - when I took the step to call her, I was convinced that he wouldn't be susceptible to the methods, but he completely was. She is just such a nice lady - gives you so much confidence with your horse & you learn so much! He tested me pretty soon after the session (about 4 days later) but because she had taught me so well, I was able to deal with it pretty calmly. Just can't put into words the feeling I had when we took him on a short journey, unloaded him, then loaded him again straight away! Just being able to walk into the trailer & feel no resistance - horse standing patiently & calmly in there with you - I could go on for hours about how much I think of Suzanne! I actually posted some photos on here of my subsequent session practicing with him I was so delighted. Really pleased that it went well for you!
