We have a 2 to 3 horse lorry that is nice and spacious and stable and is only ever used to travel 1 horse, if you put down enough bedding and protected the horse, could he sleep in it overnight? (like at a show?) it's probably bigger than his stable :p

We often take out the partition of our rice trailer and bed down our shettie in it at shows. We leave fleece wrap-arounds on for protection and make sure he has bankings. It's common practise at shetland shows so don't see why not with a bigger horse providing the space was large enough
 
Assuming its not an idiot likely to do something stupid & its a big heavy box, rather than a low roofed or light trailer then yes. My old boss used to stick his kids two ponies in boxes if he had too many horses in & needed their stables. And I know a few people who do it when competing ponies.
 
A lot of overnight shows have a rule of no horses to be kept on the lorry overnight so check the schedules. Personally I wouldn't although tempted as stabling can be expensive.
