A "bit" of help please!

Im looking for a bit with a half moon lozenge with eggbutt cheeks or even dee rings.
Preferably copper.

This is prooving quite difficult to find.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Its too small!
I need a 5.5.
Its a 1/4 moon not a half moon but i don't think it would make too much difference .

I've seen the loose rings that are more copper than this one (the whole piece), why does this one only have a copper moon!

I would assume that this is because the loose rings are a copper mix, not pure copper, so they produce the effect of copper, but the mix makes the bit stronger. Copper is a softer metal and can be prone to developing sharp bits from wear. This shouldn't happen on the half moon (which appears to be copper, not copper mix) because of the positioning in the horses mouth, but were the whole mouth piece to be copper, then you risk the development of sharp areas where the horse teeth come into contact with it, thats what ive always been led to believe anyway. Are you perhaps looking for something a bit more like this?

In which case you need to adjust your searches to copper mix, not copper.


Or I may just have got completely the wrong end of the stick
