When I say I was brought up with German Shepherds, I mean it!
That's me in the pram, with one of our dogs, who my mum was still walking two weeks after I was due

So, how did you decide what kind of dog was for you?

I love German Shepherds too having lived with one for 5 years but my true love is the stripey dog (dalmatian). I think it is because they look so beautiful & elegant but behave like over grown puppies all their lives that they are just really good fun to have around. They are also proper 'people dogs' and really enjoy quality time with the owners. Muppet loves cuddling up with me on the sofa & having a snooze

My hubby had "custody" of his 2 Old English Sheepdogs from his first marriage when we first moved in together. However they aren't the best dogs to have when you are living on a farm. They got very dirty and brought most of the yard in on their coats. We lost them through old age and hubby wanted a rotty so we got Holly. Then we wanted company for her and I wanted a dog of a similar build and size but with a tail so we got Matty a Rhodesian Ridgeback. We sadly lost gorgeous Holly and got another Rotty followed a year later by her brother!

Cor, what a handsome boy!! I am another GSD addict, I can't imagine having any other breed. I got into them late, I got a job on a stud when I was 16 and the woman who owned it bred the most amazing GSDs, she only had four at thetime but I was in total awe at the way they all had very individual personalities but were 100% consistent in their behaviour and manners. Wherever she went, they were always at her heel and they idolised her. She worked away during the week so I was on my own with them five days a week and I learnt so much from the little "pack", I utterly adored them and missed them more than the horses when I left the job to go to uni!!
