A bleeder ..

Sorry but didn't seem appropraite to post on Mairi's thread. (RIP Ulla, hugs to Mairi)

What is a bleeder ? Would I be right in thinking that it is a horse that once it injures itself then the wound doesn't stop bleeding ?

When they exercise hard, usually prolonged galloping, (very common in racehorses), they bleed from their lungs....

Our old pointer was known as a "bleeder" but didnt affect him as a pleasure horse its more when their lungs are put under stress.
