Took Danny to the vets today, 2nd vaccination and nail clip (38 blummin' quid!). Of course the vet wanted to know how the idiot is after his run in with the tasty (at the time) curry, but seeing as he's completely fine and back to his silly self, she listened to his heart and went on with the injection.

Cue the most depressed groan I have ever heard as the needle went in.

And then came the claw clipping (which I would do myself if my clippers hadn't broken when I tried to cut Mickey's claws - his claws were made out of steel I swear). I put him in the sit, then the down (yeah, he's a fast learner and knows down after 1 1/2 days training :D:D:D) and the vet picked up his paw.

One nail. No sound.
Second nail, little whimper.
Third nail....oh dear. Nowhere near the quick and yet it sounded as if he had been murdered. We both told him how silly he was being (though the vet did check the claw just to be sure) and went back to clipping. Quiet for a little while longer, whimpers slowly building to crecendo :o

I have never known such a big baby :D

He's also not as heavy as I thought he was, only 21kg 0_o'

LMAO :D Does remind me of the time when I took my lurcher (Talisker) in for his booster, he was very greyhound-looking so the vet was going on about how brave he was, and not like those wussy lurcher types at all :D She nearly fell through the floor when I said helpfully 'actually he is a lurcher' :D

I still think it is all down to the expertise, one of the vet nurses did the claws of one of my lot (think it was Flick) and she screamed the place down! When my mum does them she doesnt make a sound or move a muscle :D

I was also very unimpressed with the vet who made Islay squeak when he vaccinated her, she is the most stoical dog I own :D

Everyone asks if Danny's a small greyhound. I always end up looking perplexed because he's a sliver under 24" tts and his head is far too square imho. But if your vet was talking from personal experience then he def. fits into the 'wussy lurcher' category. And I really need to get a pair of nail clippers, I'm sure there won't be half as much fuss if I did it.

And obligatory pictures of the big baby.
