A CANTER STORY

Now as some of you know im having a bit of a wobble about cantering my new pony - this week i cantered him in the school and was thrilled - but this afternoon i did it out on a hack! But before you all say 'Well done!' it wasnt intentional - some stupid muppet on the golf driving range hit the ball as we passed (after I had politly asked him to keep still till we were past him) Pony jumped up and down then took off! After i had managed to calm him down the cretin then hit another golf ball at us! - cue another up and down from pony but no canter this time - i was a bit shaky and so was he but he wasnt silly so im quite pleased really that he behaved so well under the circumstance. So anyway ive now had a canter out on him, I cant tell you wether it was a nice one or that i enjpoyed it.........but one day I will!!!

I have to ride through a golf course and we HAVE to wait until the golfer has finished. The golfers have priority as it is their land of sorts !! not getting my words out right today

the golf range is next to our track - in fact the golf range land is owned by our YO so no one has priority and there is a huge net round the range. its just managed by good manners so to speak. x

Major step for you thow,you were put in a difficult situation he reacted and you dealt with it,you should be proud of yourself! he took off and you stopped him

all other canter situations should be easier as you say when and where!!!
