So I went on a certain other forum which mainly deals with parenthood in the hopes of finding good advice regarding the impending arrival of the human beastie and on the whole the stuff on pregnancy is very helpful. However, feeling bored and insomniac I had a look at the pet pages ...

Apparently the new trendy cross breeds are hardier than pedigrees, a spaniel is a good choice of first dog for a young family because they are very laid back and don't need a lot of exercise, you should stuff your puppy in the crate if it's overexcited because it's not a baby and you should not feel guilty, you should buy a puppy for a family with children under 3 because I did it and my 14 week old puppy is a delight...the list is endless!

Glad to be back in good old ADD!

OMG ... *sighs* said forum should be called "take my advice and your dog will be in a Rescue home in a matter of months"

:(:(:(:( Still, such is life i suppose :(:(:(

They are all keraaaazeee on that forum, which is like crazy but even more so:eek:

I particularly liked the thread where one of them bewailed the fact that dog owners do not wash down the streets after their dogs pee:rolleyes:

OMG you are familiar with this forum??? I'm intrigued!! Please PM me the addy!!!!!

Well, I believe that Booboos may be referring to a forum for parents of the female variety, on the interNET;)

Of course I may be wrong, but that's the one I meant:D

Have been browsing .... and all i can say is .... ARE THESE PEOPLE REAL???? OMG altho tbh, altho the people are laughable, it's the poor dogs/animals i feel sorry for :(

*looks at my well mannered, trained, well fed, exercised, well socialised rottie, rolls eyes and tell him he is lucky* :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Am I going to regret having a look?:p Speaking as a mum who had 5 GSDs when I had my first baby, and she spent quite a lot of time in her moses basket on the floor of the whelping kennel when one of the bitches had a litter 4 months later.:D

In 10-18 years there are going to be a LOT of absolute idiots about going by how that lot raise their kids.

Lol some of those thread are rather amusing. I am on a forum for my other passion guinea pigs and some of the threads on there can be interesting some times. Its seeking for the perfect lifestyle thing isnt it?? One day these women may realise that it dont happen and the *%$" tends to hit the fan on several occasions in life. I dont have kids, will one day, but will see how it goes when it comes to "raising" kids. All I can tell you is that I wouldnt seek advice from the NCT but thats a different story.

Oh you will love this, the next door neighbour has got a wait for it ..................Alsation x Husky or maybe a malamute (they werent sure which). I will let CC or MM correct that one.................

However it is 11 weeks old and they are intending to "train" it as a guard dog.........and it is kept seperate from the two jrts because they keep attacking it so it has a bed in the shed.......shall wait and see poor little thing. Although she did bring it over the other day to play with Dylan and ask about raw.

Still in shock this is gonna be such a disaster.

omg just looked what idiots! I dont go on that forum but went for a look.

Yes that would be the forum! As you can see I couldn't resist myself and have plunged in! If it keeps raising my blood pressure though I will have to ban myself...OH had to drag me kicking and screaming from the computer late last night! :D

Toffee44:  What a recipie for disaster! Poor dog!

My health visitor was horrified when I said I gave up sterilising my baby son's bottles after I found him chewing the dog's leg  .... what would mum'snet think of me if I posted that on there... :D

Someone needs to tell those mummies that germs are good for you - grew up neck deep in dog hair, poo, pee etc and I very rarely got or get ill :p

Toffee, they've got the wrong breed and that idea could bite them in the arse, literally...

Interesting bit of research you might want to refer to next time someone freaks out about dogs and babies: apparently two or more dogs living in the house during the baby's first few years significantly reduce the risk of the child developping asthma. It seems that dogs produce something called endoxins that get the immune system working properly! HA to all cleanliness freaks!

Don't tempt me, I've been on there again for the last hour! It's really bizarre that people go out and get a puppy without having done any research whatsoever on dog ownership and seeing as they spend all this time (rightly) exchanging ideas about child rearing.
