A cheaper version of this bit?

New horses old owner rode him in a Neue Schule bit and found he was far happier in it then anything else she had tried but it's so expensive!
It's a fixed ring (eggbutt) snaffle with a lozenge. I think it's a tranz angled one from looking online.
Is there any that are very similar but cheaper? I know Jefferies do the Minos vision range that are similar but all loose ring which he dislikes.

Have a look at cotswold sport tongue saver bits. I got one off there and it is top quality. It just depends if they do the one you're wanting.

Totally forgot Cotswold sport! They are about 10 minutes away aswell so possibly could go look which would be ideal! Thanks for that.
Yes I have the Jefferies version of the universal gag for my retired horse and it was great but this horse really dislikes loose rings which I think is all they do in that range. He's uber sensitive in the mouth dept! I did ride him last night in a loose ring lozenge as it's all I had apart from stronger types and he wasn't too cheery about it!

I have looked on ebay and have found a proper Neue Schule for £98 or the very similar CS one for £52.
Cotswold Sport seem to do some odd sizes 5.3, 5.7, 6.3! I'm also not 100% sure on thickness. Bits can be so confusing!

My horse needs a thinner bit as she has a fleshy mouth with a fat tongue and low pallete. I got her the CS tongue saver boucher and she is happy with it, she used to put her tongue over a regular snaffle or double jointed bit. She needs the curve to make room for her tongue. It really depends why your horse was in the bit she already had as to what you will need.

I second this recommendation, all of our horses have various forms of the tongue saver bits
