Well, after a hopeless few days when Henry went on sit-down strike in the heat, we are back in business
He was so good on Saturday training, on Sunday I was really testing him by throwing into really thick cover (right up to chest height on me - I would never have found it again!) and he really persevered, found it every time and brought it back begging for another go. Then we did some more this evening and he was really up for it, really enthusiastic, even with some fairly testing retrieves (waiting until he was out ahead, chucking the dummy out far to the side then sending him off under fences to get it)
We are now starting to learn proper quartering, which he does naturally already, but now he will need to learn to do it on cue, not just when he fancies it
I on the other hand have cut my foot open, by training on a stubble field in flip flops - ouch!
Sorry, I know that's entirely boring to one and all, but I am very pleased with him
