I am looking at a second hand saddle company verona working hunter for my pony. I'm keen on the fact that it is fully adjustable and has soft panels (he is having his back worked on currently).
First question: the saddler says that the 17 inch he's in now is borderline okay, but shorter would be better. This saddle is 16.5 - will that half inch make enough of a difference or do I really need to be looking at a 16" to make a positive difference?
Second question: for a pony with an upright shoulder and a rider who likes to ride with long leathers is a working hunter a good option?
