1) What Do You Wear For Local In-Hand Shows?
- I'm thinking of doing, young stock, novice horse/pony
2) What Do You Have To Do In An In-Hand Show?
- I have never done showing in my life, sorry !
Thanks For Any Replies, doing this show in memory of my dad :)

I wear navy hat with flesh coloured harness, shirt and tie, gloves, green tweed jacket, either dark or light trousers depending on which pony I am showing. You should wear trousers of contrasing colour to your horse's legs.

In a class you usually walk round all together, then the steward will halt you in a corner and one at a time you trot round to the back. Then the judge will line you all up and one by one you go out and stand your horse up for the judge then usually walk away and trot back at the judge and continue on past them. Then go back and retake your place in the line up. When everyone has gone you usually get sent out to walk round again and the judge will call you back in in order of the placings.

I only have tomorrow and not in the frame of mind to go out shopping for trousers as my father passed on wednesday. Would a black velvet had with skin colour harness, pink/white stock collar show shirt, black show jacket, cream chequered show jods and long black boots be okay?
She is a 16.2hh bay tb with a white sock on one front and one back otherwise typical bay legs?

There is a saying...never wear black or white for showing. But when you do local level showing you see all kinds of things :o It's unlikely to make a great deal of difference what you wear for a low key show. I just like to get it right cos I do county shows too sometimes :)

I wouldn't worry too much ~ go and enjoy yourself.

Yes in an ideal world you would have blue jacket and hat or tweed if a hunter class but at local level its not too worrying. A waistcoat might be better though ~ just a thought.

Sorry about your dad <hugs>
