Hello!

I'm having issue's tracing my horse's family tree.

I can locate his father and grandfather but not his mother. Does that mean that she wasn't a 'significant' horse?

Arnie was bred at Hartshill Stud, his Damsire is Le Moss and his father is Alflora. His mother is called Rosemoss.

Is there a website dedicated to this stuff?!

First time horse owner so I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this stuff :o

That's fab thank you!

Yes JH they are all full TB's (racers I think) Arnie's passport is a weatherbys one. My horse is unnamed on his passport so I'm just trying to find some trace off him!

have u tried searching the horses on sporting life and racing post? it may through up a bit more.

Nevermind, I got him

He has a half-brother in training at the moment named Lord Tomnoddy who won his last race, though that was back in March 2010.

Your horse has a very stout pedigree in racing terms, very much bred to be a long-distance jumper.

Thank you so so much.

He is still unnamed on his passport. Traditionally, do you take his name from his mothers and fathers? If that makes sense!

Nice to hear is half brother is doing well. Arnie has an SI injury, I picked him up for peanuts after a vet recommended he shouldn't event. Apparently he's been through the market/auctions but with him being unnamed I've no idea how to go about finding where he's been.

Not entirely sure what you mean re. name. I work with young racehorses, and we refer to them by their dam's name, since the stallions have so many progeny!

He went through the Doncaster sales twice, firstly as a foal where he was led out unsold (didn't meet reserve) at 1,800 Guineas, then he was re-offered as a four-year-old and sold for £1,500 to a Ms. S. Williamson, here are his catalogue pages.

Wow! Is there anything else you can tell me about him?!

His previous owner bought him at auction - but her name isn't the one you mentioned, so I'm presuming he was then put back into the sales and that's where his previous picked him up from.
