A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

Happy New Year to you all.

We hope you are all looking forward to a good year of riding, let's hope it’s a bit drier than 2007!

And we hope you will be joining us for our regular ride at Tweseldown, near Fleet, Hants on Sunday 8 June.

It will be the usual format, around 5 miles of sandy, cross-country going, with two circuits around 25 fences, with ones to suit everyone's abilities. There will be rosettes to reward your riding and sponsorship efforts + a trophy for the person who gets the most sponsorship. Half of what you raise will go to the local branch of Riding for the Disabled. Last year that was £1000!

We'd be grateful if you'd pass this email on to anyone else you think might be interested. They can join our mailing list via our website.

Last years details are still on our website (www.fleetlions.org.uk/fundraising/horse) if you need a better idea of what its all about. We'll be updating them soonish. We'll let you know when we have so you can download entry forms etc. Or you can email me.

What happens to the other half of the sponsorship money? Sounds like fun, but it's far too far away for us. Good luck.

That's funny , I just opened my copy of this email up as well.

Hope this years ride has better weather than last year ! Already in my diary G_B . I work with the local branch of the RDA so I know the money is well spent but not sure where the other half goes. Probably local deserving causes/charities.

Probably covers the costs of the event, insurance, paramedics, rosettes, toilets, expenses, stewards refreshments, contribution to the landowner, advertising, printing, etc. It costs in the region of £1500 to run something like this properly.
