It was blowing like a gud un so was driving to check the ponies and take some Christmas photos
we were met by a loose horse galloping along the main road traffic everyhwere so stoppe and my friend and rider jumped out and caught it she returned it to the person who had let go she was trying to ride lead from her ridden horse in a gale along the main road the led horse was doing its nut we made sure she got home safely
arrived at our field to find the old horse next door shivering wearing its rug like a bib and cutting into its neck so caught it up removed the rug mended it where possible with binder twine and replaced it in the correct place gave him some carrots and a hug. Today his owner informed me she had left it tied with the binder twine as it hadnt moved, sometimes I despair of some people however I think they are going to buy the old man a new one tomorrow so perhaps he will be warmer during the storms expected at the end of the week

I never cease to be amazed at the kindness of horsy people towards other riders/horses. And you are obviously no exception to the rule. Thank goodness you were able to catch the loose horse. And poor old 'shiverer'. I hope they do buy him that new rug. Oldies need treasuring. I just hope someone is there to do you a good turn when YOU need it!
