Well for the second time ever we braved taking Hattie and Fiddler out together, and today it was Pony Club dressage - fiercely contested at always

It was Fiddler's first outing for 6 months so we would have a been happy with him just doing a presentable test, and we were intrigued to know which one would beat the other!!!

The first class was the novice eventing test 2006, Fiddler went right at the start of the class and amazed us all! He usually 9 times out of 10 will explode spectacularly down the final centre line - today he came in on an 8 as usual and.......... finished on an 8 too!!!!

Also managed a 9 for a canter too which was astounding!

He just produced one of those tests you always want to remember - was sooooooo chuffed!.

Then it was Hattie's turn in the same test, she was totally above herself finding the whole "coming out to a party with Fiddler" experience rather exciting - and after bucking and spooking in the warm up, she came into the test and apart from a small lack of concentration at times she also produced a pretty ok test!

Dont quite know how but in a class of about 10 Fiddler won it with 73%

and Hattie was 2nd with 68%

couldnt have been better really

Then took Fiddler in for the second test - PC Eventing Test 2005. He managed to hold himself together for most of the test and instead of getting 2, 3, 2 for his last 3 movements he managed 5, 4, 6 instead

(after cantering down the final centre line

) and he entered on a 9

Then Hattie , much more settled this time came in and did another good test which she managed to concentrate the whole way through this time!

Turned out Fiddler was 2nd with 69.61% and Hattie was 3rd with 69.33% out of 10ish again. There was only 1 mark between their two scores!!!!!

Yup i will be area eventing this year hopefully- deeply entrenched in it as its our pony club running it this year and my Mums doing all the computer stuff! Probably do the intermediate though not the open as neither of my two will be ready! Might be able to do the open dressage stuff this year though....

What brilliant results! Well done you! I am very glad I moved 'up north' - means I don't have to compete against you at East Sussex venues! Although I am a little too old for Pony Club these days

Well done abbie what great results so pleased they are both back to there best. Hope you have a very good eventing season ahead!

They are fantastic results well done! I was very relieved to read that you aren't in my area, I'm area 13

On scores that like you really should have a crack at the open, it's not as bad as it looks. I've done it for the last 3 years even on ponies that barely walk to canter let alone canter to walk, somehow it just all comes together in the arena. Good luck with your eventing this year xx

well believe or not, people from several branches in my area will come and watch my dressage test on Fiddler because he explodes so spectacularly down the centre line and it makes everyone laugh!!!!!! I cant remember how many times hes got the whole audience and the judge in fits has he half passes or canters neatly down the final centre line then grinds to a halt to give me enough time to salute!!!!!

crazy.gif
He used to lose about 10 marks and so i would often just be pushed out of the top 3!

Hopefully we're over than now though!!!!!! I will see how they go but id love to do some open stuff this year!
