Since purchasing some Hydrophane johds (which I adore because they are so thick and robust and flattering), I have developed a bit of (...thinks how to put it discreetly...) chafing, uh, behind (where the back seams are).
The problem arises when out hacking - schooling is ok because I'm mostly trotting and cantering.
Any similar experiences out there, and what can you recommend?
I'm wondering whether a seat saver for my saddle, or if there are any special knickers? A friend who is a nurse recommended a thin layer of vaseline, but I've not found this makes a significant difference...
My, the things we share online

ditto digger123 tbh, bridget jones all the way

buuutt..... could it be that its the hot weather making you get a bit um hot and such as it were as you do say these joddys are thick, i know if i wear my boots for a long time my feet can get quite itchy and chaffed a tad if its hot

ooh good suggestions. I have tried small, big and commando but might invest in some seriously huge grannies then - my OH thought horse riders were so sexy until he met me lol!!

I got this recently when walking my fat horse for miles. I gave myself a couple of days off, changed my jods to different ones with a slightly less harsh seam - in fact changed to riding in my old jeans and bum seems fine. Also used sudocrem for "relief". I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets this at times. I used to get it dreadfully when we rode bareback all day every day as children!!

sudocreme, I have a HM seatsaver and although very comfy not sure it makes any diff on this problem!

Poppymoo would love to know what else Big pants are the answer to please!

I must be the only one who wears G's by the sound of it! cant' be doing with all the extra material...plus

you must consider the VPL in tight johds...
