Friend of mine moved to France and took her boxer with her. Ivan is docked but his ears are au naturel. She was told that had his ears been cropped he would not have been allowed in France.
What is the position on docked tails and cropped ears in the UK? Supposing you wanted to import a dog with a docked tail and or cropped ears, would you be allowed to?
FTR I like dogs to have their own ears (we have dobes) but I do prefer them (dobes that is) docked.

Truly, the French not allowing a dog into the country due to tail docking or ear cropping, dear Lord.

When you think of some of the things they get up to regarding animals, to them ear-cropping is merely a manicure.

It has been illegal to crop ears in the UK for decades - it just isn't done. I think you could import a dog with cropped ears (showing it might be another matter altogether) but don't know. Horrid practice anyway, much worse than docking tails - longer anaethsetic, longer recovery time, more stitches, ears then need propping up for weeks to train them to stand up.

Tail docking would still be allowed to happen here under soeme circumstances, so I'm sure you could import.
