Hi everyone,

I just wondered if anyone could help me out with a favour. My mare has recently been consigned to 4 weeks box rest and I've been looking at toys to try and keep her amused in the stable. In the past I've found some horses love them and others just don't 'get' them at all, and as hopefully her stable time will only be limited, I wondered if rather than buying one anybody had one that they don't use, that I could borrow for a month? I was particularly looking at either an Elico decahedron or a Snak a Ball - the ones you stuff with nuts and they roll around the floor...

Obviously I would pay postage costs for delivery and return and replace it if the horse stamped on it or something!

thanks hopefully!

I'm borrowing the one I'm currently using (decahedron) and I'd feel a bit cheeky lending it on, otherwise I would

I think i have one of thos hanging likit things somewhere if thats any good? I had to stop using it as my lad is banned from all sugary substances as they send him mad, so he was obsessed with it and eventually figured out how to eat a whole likit in a night - it was more of a chewit than a likit as far as he was concerned!!

I have got one of those Likit rovolving holders that holds two different flavours of licks but when Rose as on box rest she not only manated to scoope out both licks in one day but she also managed to the round ball out of its holder and now it wont stay in!

I didn't want to give her a roller ball with treats in side in case she used her bad paw to play with it???

I used to hang up carrots and swedes so that she had to work to get them but she got them within a minute and it took me about half an hour to string them up. Good luck!!!.......

oh thank you, someone at the yard has offered to lend me one of those, so I'll probably stick that in and see what happens... It was more the roller ones I was thinking of trying with her, I think the nuts might interest her more than the licks!!!
thanks tho

I have a decahedron (the smaller version but gets plenty of carrots in it) which I am not using ATM - horse currently still living out 24/7. It's not as heavy as a snack-a-ball for postage.

PM me if you want me to look into the postage costs. The hole as it stands is a bit big for pony nuts (I chop carrots etc or use Badmington high fibre nuggets in it).
