I just thought that I'd share a few photos from my lesson today as I'm really proud of how Belle and I are getting along (yes, I'm proud of managing tiny cross poles and a sensible trot, hehe). We have been having two short lessons a week for the past few weeks and occasional hacks out and I think we are really starting to understand each other a bit more. She was in the habit of pulling back and breaking free everytime I caught her to tack her up and now she hasn't done it the past three times.
Please bear in mind that I am very rusty (and probably shouldn't have a fairly young and green horse!!) so we are having to go right back to basics, for both our sakes. We are wearing high vis as we have to hack up the road to get to the school.
This was the second time we have tried a little jump together. Last time she was very calm and I could control the speed of her approach beautifully. Today she was LOVING jumping and speed control went totally wrong but we both had a lot of fun.
Starting out slow!
I quite like this one...
The high vis glowing a bit:
A sensible jump:
And a mad jump!
Thank you for looking.
