Just have a few questions regarding a horse I have in to sell - im not advertising!!
Ok, first off - the horse windsucks - grrrrrr! not badly, and its definately windsucking and not cribbing as all he does is presses his chin into the door and burps! He only does it a feedtime, or if something upsets him when hes on the yard - like yesterday when the youngsters escaped (but thats a whole different story!!). So, Im wondering how much does this affect his price? Is there a certain amount I should reduce it by, or do I advertise him for the price I have in mind (minus windsucking) and then drop it depending on what prospective buyers say?
Secondly, I was planning on advertising him on Horsequest, as I think its the best website for selling and its the first one I always go to BUT I have just had a browse through the allrounder section, as this is where his advert would go and was slightly shocked to find that the over 16hh section is full of very expensive BE/BD prospects /potentials /schoolmasters and the under 16hh section is full of 15hh connies!! Now this horse is what I perceive to be an 'allrounder' - as in he can/could turn his hoof to anything, hacks out, excellent in traffic etc etc, so being bang on 16hh, he could go in either section, but now im thinking he will look very cheap compared to everything else on there! I really dont want to use Horsemart as in the past Ive always been plied with a thousand timewasting emails, and I see H&H as more for selling competition horses, so not really sure what to do?
Any advise/musings/opinions very welcome and sorry for what I have now realised is a very long whingey post!
