Firstly, the bitch im hopefully getting a puppy from is being scanned tonight... Fingers crossed!!!

Secondly, has anyone ever had a dog that's lived on it's own hate it's new friend? Or be really miserable? What about dogs that are clingy to you? Xxx

Oh fingers crossed for you! I have had trouble with male dogs and introducing another. I had a male swedish vallhund who was mature and introduced a 9 month old male sckipperkee who decided he was top dog and constantly picked on the old dog. I had youngster 'done' but he was still feisty. The old dog died and I still feel guilty that he was 'bothered' by my new young male dog in his advanced years. I then got a youngish rescue bitch - no problems introducing her, but then we got a young (6 months old) patterdale dog pup and he and the schip started fighting. Had the patterdale 'done' but intermittently they have a serious fight and poor sckipp comes off worst. This has happened twice and I had to take the sckipp to vet's for treatment.
95% of the time the 2 boys play, but imo a boy and girl or 2 girls is safer and more harmonious.

Well we already have a Chloe so we would either end up with girl-girl or girl-boy. Just not sure which is best and if she's gonna be happy!!

What were the results of the scan?

Brig was a very unhappy boy for the first two weeks or more with the pups, but he is Captain Sensible (in the house) and there were two manic pups hanging off his ears. Sensibly, we should have got an older spayed bitch for his sake.

Well Chloe is already spayed and we would be 99% definitely spaying the boy ASAP.

Im leaning towards a boy....

Will learn results tomorrow hopefully! Am all excited tonight :) xxxx

I'm with you CaveCanem, we have a bitch (to put it politely) and she will only tollerate dogs.
All other, lesser bitches, are to be snapped at and and generally not accepted by Saffy the Staffie.
