The last week or so my boy has been farting like i dont know what! If he has a poo he farts almost constantly for 3/4 mins afterwards. He doesnt look in pain when he goes but he occasionally looks like he is straining.
I started feeding brewers yeast about 3 weeks ago and he started coming in overnight a week ago.
He is fed fast fibre, purabeet and has a tablespoon of brewers yeast and a mug of linseed twice a day. Hes on hay overnight and the paddock he goes into isn't full of grass but neither is it poached.
Am i right to be a little concerned? And what would you do?

At grass my horse can become bloated. Her abdomin becomes round but she is not colicky. Looks like she has gorged herself. When walked she initially passes gas and is then ok in herself. I have started to feed fennel this week to see if that helps. Will watch this post with interest.

I would hazard a guess it has something to do with the Brewer's Yeast. It seems coincidental time wise and yeast always produces gas as a by-product.

Well i'm thinking it is the brewers yeast but my other two have been on it for years and its not had this effect on them!
