Slight rant...:D

First the bad bits I haven't ridden in 3 weeks so I'd forgotten how whiney and b****y one of the girls in my lesson was. She's only 13 but still...she was put on a cob (she hates cobs there "slow and lazy" :() first she moaned, then whined, through a tantrum and when all this didn't get her on a faster horse she burst into tears and through herself off the ponio  (she's such a stroppy mare ) . By this point I wanted to strangle her... but got off my horsey and switched to shut her up. Ploddy cob thing my arse within minutes I had him doing walk and halt to canter. The worst thing she did was attempt to gallop over the entire jumping course without setting the poor horse up to get the stride and continued to half gallop the corners even when the horse was on the wrong lead... she didn't even wait for the person before her to finish before setting off nearly causing a head on collision!! The instructor kept shouting slow down, wait, your on the wrong lead back to trot and and she just ignored everything (selective deafness much ) horse knocked pretty much every jump down and even landed in the middle of one!

Ok rant part over time or the good news...

I told my instructor 3 weeks ago that I wanted to start looking for a horse at the end of July. Today she asked me if I still wanted a horse and what I wanted them to have done etc I told her 15.2-16.3, doesn't have to have any points etc not too green, must be able to do general RC activities and comps if I have time. She then pointed to the field and said that the piebald light weight cob type was 15.2 4yrs old just backed and would be ridable etc by end of July for around 3k (my max budget). As soon as she is rideable she will be in the riding school and I can ride her in every lesson I want with a first refusal to buy her at the end of July :D:D I can't wait she is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Cookies if you made it this far :p:D

Oh how exciting for you! You can’t beat a good coloured! Would you keep your new ned at the riding school?

Boo about the spoilt brat though, you get them everywhere! Surprised you didn’t give her a slap, lol!

How exciting :)
I felt like that girl today; i was on a 5 year old who had a complete tantrum over a 2 foot jump then flat out galloped towards a 3 foot one :P but what a whiny little girl, eh?
You must take some pictures of this potential new horse and keep us updated :)

Used to have lessons with someone who sounds very similar... every week she'd be given a different horse, and none were good enough.... eesh. If I were an instructor, I'd have beaten a few to death by now :o

I hope the horse turns out nicely! Sounds like a great situation, as you'll be able to see how she comes on and all :D Good luck!

I'm not sure the school has good facilities and lots of off road hacking but it's cheaper to rent the field next to my house unfortunately no arena or XC fields (love jumping and dressage)and near A1 but good hacking... decisions decisions :D:D

I don't think her mum would approve of me slapping her... she seemed perfectly happy with the tantrum :(

Hope you don’t think I’m rude but if you do buy the 4 year old go for the facilities, you will find them very useful. Hacking is wonderful but being able to get into a school when the weather is bad is a must with a baby IMO.

I still think you should have slapped her when mother wasn’t looking though, lol!

I don't think your rude at all the school instructors will be there to give advise and help when needed, hiring one of the schools/XC fields isn't very expensive. Hopefully she will become a classy horsey (she apparently even has good bloodlines just to top off her perfectness :p :D)

If I do buy her that stroppy madam WILL not be allowed to ride her lol :D
