I had a great day out with my local hunt today, people were friendly, hedges were big enough but not too big, jumps were plenty, there was no cold wind, the going was great.... did you have a good day out too and if so, what was great about it?

Well I was all set to go - but it appeared some of my horses had had a right good knees up last night and 'a smashing time' was had with the post and rail fences AND electric wire - woke up to find ponies scattered all over the gardens and had a couple of hours fence mending to do - by which time I was very late and disorganised for hunting.

Glad you had a good outing!

Ground too hard for mounted so we went on foot, just to the meet as had the yard to do. The hunt set off on foot and quad.

VAGSB met and paraded the hounds through the high street - lots of support from people lining the road ,cheering the hounds on :)
Then we went back to the boxes as the ground was unsafe to ride on. Its hard for the hunts as the field want to go but many people don't realise how dangerous it is for hunt staff to go charging through a frozen poached gateway. We were delighted to show our support for our hunt and are hoping it will thaw for saturday :)

It was a lovely sunny day in Morpeth, lots of people out supporting the hunt; my daughter went out for her first proper hunt and we followed, she had a great time, pony was well behaved and kept up well without being silly. Today she had a games pracitice and it was like he'd never been hunting yesterday, wasn't tired or 'up a height'.
