I have the feeling some people on here presume this post may be a fairytale story but it's really not. Not being judgemental just have that little feeling, apologies!
Anyway, I posted a few days ago about a loan horse I had to give up & I found him again and was allowed to visit.. Well today was the day!
Got half way down the drive to the yard and started shaking nervously hoping to god he'd remember me. Found the yard owner explained who I was etc she then took us to the field (me and my friend).
They said they'd wait at the gate, which I appreciated. I saw him at the far end of the field, I walked a little further down so the people at the gate couldn't hear me blubbering.. I shouted his name, he looked up and whinnied at me like he used too. Then he came galloping over to me and stopped dead infront of me. I had tears streaming down my face, he gave me a big slobbery kiss and rested his head on my shoulder. (Shouldn't of worn mascara, half of it was down my face!
)
I was allowed to take him back to his stable to groom and talk to him, he followed me like a lost puppy, just like old times. Groomed him, cried into his mane so many times and stayed with him for approximately 2hours.
When it was time to leave I took him back to the field and he watched over the gate with his ears pricked till we drove over the hill and away he went.
We had a bond so close in such little time, it amazes me. Unfortunately had no camera to take pictures but i'm just SO glad I got to say a proper goodbye, I know I won't see him again now as he is too far away for me to travel (2hours) but he knows he'll always be my horse in a million.
Would also like to say a great big thankyou again to people for giving me the inspiration to find him, I feel a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
Just a few pictures of me and him last year.. (sorry for the size!)
