I was out with my dogs this morning with every intention of obeying the Hunting Act. I had my high powered rifle ready to shoot any deer that my dogs flush out. Lo and behold a small group of deer ran out of the bushes.

Do you know I just couldn't shoot them. I really like deer.

The Government say that wild mammals can only legally be flushed out if they are thern shot dead in order to prevent them being persistently flushed out.

I've come to realise that it is disgusting to support such a law. Sureluy a better way to prevent deer being persistently flushed out is just not to persistently flush them out rather than shoot them dead.

It's Christmas guys. Give these animals a break for ###'s sake.

A law that requires animals to be shot dead for no good reason is just plain wrong.

antiantianti I am shocked that you failed to prevent those deer being persistently flushed out by shooting them but instead just didn't persistently flush them out.

The Government make it clear that the reason that flushed out deer have to be shot is to prevent them being persistently flushed out. Just not persistently flushing them out is NOT a valid means of not persistently flushing them out.

The Labour Government are very clever people which is why they passed such a profoundly sensible law. No one has a right just to break laws. I am quite sure that Reginald, Jess and Tegoz will all agree with me that you should have shot those deer.

Can I suggest that you hand yourself in to the local police station. I am sure they will be glad to have their attention diverted from minor matters like rape and murder to the far more serious matter of an illegal refusal to gun down a herd of flushed out deer.

It is unfortunate that the Hunting Act contains an anomaly requiring animals to be killed. However in general this aspect of the law will be ignored.

Only hunts will be prosecuted for not killing animals.
