Hector:

Hector has been busy this week, he has been out to 2 parties! First was BD on Sunday at Oaklands, where luckily his tests fitted in between the torrential downpours. He scored nearly 67% to win the Novice qualifier and also get the overall highest score across any class for the whole day, they then did their second BD Elementary, he scored 64something which would have put him second (he went 'training' as want to keep him Nov restricted just now, so wasn't placed in his class of 9) Both classes had a good range of scores right down to mid 50's and both were with different, known to be hard marking judges.

Today we went to Fenning Farm, first visit since they have improved the surfaces, great to see a venue making such an effort, and lovely cafe too. He did a fab first test, Nov 38 (qual) to score 69.96% (damn that elusive 0.04) but was just beaten into 2nd by a horse that must have scored just one more mark in the test as it was point something in front (this horse was going to regionals this weekend) again scores in the class ranged down to mid 50's and a judge who is know to be fair and correct. Great comments too - harmonious partnership was my favourite!

Next was Elem 44, again going training as don't want the points atm, just the practice for the RC Champs in Sept. He scored the highest mark of 65.6, but unfortunately no prize money for training.

Hopefully they will get qualified soon and can the crack on with the Elems as they are obviously capable (if I understand the rules correctly)

Some pics from last weekend taken by Papafrita who has bought a new camera. Wally asked to be included too!

If someone goes down to the Co op and gets some wine I'll happily offer a glass, otherwise it's salmon and rice for super.

The pylons look really close in pics, they are actually at the far side of the huge corn field!

Think I have commented on Hector on facebook, but he is just fantastic :) and Wally is adorable - no more constructive comments from me than that :D

Hector looking really well and obviously having a very happy time.

As for Wally, what can I say - tooooo gorgeous! Those ears, I believe you can always tell a good horse by its ears. And those are fabulous ears!!

He does have lovely ears doesn't he? I live the way they curl in at the tips, they were even curlier when he was born, so I hope they don't straighten out. Optimist, I haven't seen your baby for wa while, hint hint!

Hector looks lovely and Wally is gorgous strange field companion though!!

It's a guinea fowl, we inherited a few when we bought the house, they are very old, hopefully they will be gone soon!

The foal spends ages playing with our very cute ginger kitten, foal pushes him gently with his nose and kitten batts him with his paws, I'll have to video it!

Hector looks so well and happy :). You know I don't really understand dressage but I can see how relaxed he and Abbi are - definitely a harmonious partnership.
Love Wally, he has such a cute face.

Will post some pics soon - stallion owner chasing me for some too as he is the first coloured offspring. Haven't taken any in the last few weeks - am already regretting that as he has grown sooo much. Getting more beautiful by the day (not that I am in any way prejudiced...) but still feral.... I love a challenge!

wally was a bit shy to start off, but he is quite bold now, his paddock has a great view of the builders at our house and all the farm machinery and my lorry and the cars pass right next to it. He isn't too fond of being led, but is very good if you use a scarf round his neck and one round his bum. He is pretty good with his feet as he has had sone remedial trimming to help straighten his leg slightly. He has started neighing at horses that pass on the bridleway and has caused a few problems. It's amazing how many foal phobic horses there are!

Anything a bit feral is usually a very independent thinker, good at looking after itself!

Well done on some very consistent and admirable scores and placings - Hector is looking as lovely as always and Wally is just adorable and I love his facial marking.

Good luck for the RC Champs - we are going up for the Juniors but getting there the afternoon before, so a slim chance we might see you!

I like the pictures! Hector and rider look fab, he looks so shiney and well and it shows how good their partnership is to have such consistent marks.
I love Wally! He's a little cracker isn't he :) :).

Hee hee I just read your reply about foal phobic horses. We got a little coloured foal at our yard and my horse freaked when he first saw her! He didn't know what to do with himself the silly sausage, he's used to her now playing and galavanting about.

We also have to pass some Shetland foals out hacking now that is hilarious. They come running up to the fence like tiny black cotton wool balls with their mummies. It's always fun hanging on to our boys when that happens :D.

Well done, those are just super results! They sound more than ready for Elementary so they shouldn't have any problems qualifying for both levels!

Wally is gorgeous!

It made me smile yesterday, someone was muttering about flashy warmbloods (whilst looking at Hec) not giving british bred horses a chance, etc etc.

Their face, when I pointed out the he is a British Sports Horse, in reality a Yorkshire sports horse, born and bred in the UK, 7/8 TB X Cleveland Bay, was a picture!

Sorry I'm late! :o Abi and Hec look fab and "harmonious" is a very good word for how they look together.:)

I can picture that person's face when you said TB, never mind when you added Cleveland Bay.

As for Wally, he is so cute I might have to steal him. ;)
