Hi, I'm back on the forum again after a week's holiday so hello everyone and hope you're all well! I had a lovely 3 days up at the Yorkshire Riding Centre which was really interesting and learned loads. Even managed to get sunburnt...

So on to the bit question...

I'm riding Missie at the moment in a myler comfort snaffle with a copper roller which she really likes. BUT it's not dressage legal. I've ordered her an ordinary comfort snaffle for competitions but I was wondering a) if there was something you could wrap round the bit to make her mouth the bit and keep her mouth soft like the copper roller does (eg. bit of shammy leather something like that) and b) whether this would be legal for dressage?

And while we're at it, why is the only snaffle that Myler do in a size smaller than 5" a hanging snaffle??!! very odd!

Kangaroo bits are very high in copper content, iirc, even though they look like normal steel.
you can get copper eggbutt snaffles, i'm sure. it's just a case of hunting around, i guess.
You can't wrap anything around a mouthpiece if you want to be dressage legal, no.

ok, thanks for that.
I'm not sure if it's the copper she likes or the roller!! I have a couple of Neue Schule's but she just gets dead in them, even though the alloys are meant to be good for promoting mouthing and acceptance of the bit. I will have to do some more experimenting over the winter!
