How high do you think a 32 inch minature pony can jump? My sister does a bit of jumping with him on a lead rope and he loose jumps himself in the arena but only about 50cm, anyway I fenced off a grassy area of the yard with electric fence for him today and he jumped out!!! I measured it and couldn't believe the height of it!!!! It was two strands and as soon as I put him in he trotted around, checked out the best place to jump (where he landed on grass) and out he popped!! So any guesses as to how high it was??

My Shettie's 8.1hh (33"). He's been over a 3ft hedge and rails (albeit a narron/thin hedge). That was when we were doing XC practice and he didn't realise he could nip through the gate to get through into the next field. Instead he jumped the hedge with us!

Also been seen jumping over a 2ft9" netting fence into a neighbours garden. Managed to wriggle underneath that one too where the bottom had curled up!

I used to loose jump him and lunge him over stuff and even with a portly tum he was a pretty able jumper.

Bet your fence was about 3ft??

My 13.2 pony has jumped 4ft 2" from a standstill at a chase me charlie! Luckily it was before I owned him as I wouldnt have managed to stay on!!! Think the rider was very suprised!

Yep can believe it the little uns can get where the sun dont shine!!!!

about 3ft? Shetlands I've found are incredibly motivated by food, and its surprising what they will do for their stomachs! I had a 12hh pony who used to jump over a 4ft fence to get to longer grass when he was on the short stuff because he was too fat. Used to jump back when he saw you coming to get him in and pretend he'd been there all along!

Measured it at 95 cm and he must've cleared it by another few cms! I don't know why he jumped out because he had lots of grass but I couldn't catch him then so he spent the rest of the day wandering around the yard!! Iv'e made the fence bigger today (at least 1m!) and he hasn't jumped out so far. I reckon it must be the equivalent of a 16h horse jumping a grand prix course!! Heres a pic of the little monster
