At the moment I pay £38 per month insurance, this includes vets fees £5000, 3rd party £2m, loss of animal £2000. It went up last year as I made a claim and now I've just made a huge claim which used up all £5000 vets fees (and more out of my own pocket). My insuance company have been fantastic, no questions asked really and paid the £5000 out so quickly, we are talking weeks. But am thinking next year it will probably be more like £50 a month. How much do you pay and what are you covered for?

Hey you,
I pay £38 a month too. Thats for upto £5k vets fees, £2m public liability, £2.5m personal liability, £50k legal costs, £2900 loss of animal and £2k for tack. Mine is with NFU aswell
I did do quite a few quotes this year to see if I could get it any cheaper and alot of them were quoting around £45-£50 a month

I am with NFU and pay £105 a month! I cant remember the figures but it covers loss of use and horse and vets fees. NFU were cheapest quoters!

How much is that valuing your horse at? Im wondering if I pay too much!!

I have just insured £3000 TB mare with amtrust, for £307 for a year. covers £5000 vets, loss use 60% tack £1500 personal injury, but not public liability cos I get that free with BHS membership, death or theft £3000. They only asked for 2 stage vet cert. They were v good on the phone, as this is first time ive owned a horse that needed insurance(30 years ago we never did it!!)
