Friend has recently had a baby and hasn't got time for all her horses. She is sadly having to sell 8 yr old registered Hafllinger gelding. 14hands. Ride & Drive. Good to load (trailer & lorry), clip, farrier, traffic, etc. Has taken part in lots of pleasure rides and organised drives. Established flatwork, fantastic to drive - would teach a novice the ropes. Will hack out alone & in company. He really is a little superstar - what do you think he would be worth? I know what she is asking for him, but want to know if she is about right. Thanks guys.

Sorry but I think you are wrong. Good honest but ‘been there, done it’ types that are still in their prime are worth every penny and people are prepared to pay for them! 3K would be a steal!

I know horses this type of horse is worth alot but its not really done much and is eight years old. Suppose it depends what you are looking for , I would be expecting alot more for something around £5K! Maybe I'm a cheapskate

Between £1,500 and £2,500 depending on bloodlines and temperament. I've never ever seen a Haflinger for more than £3k I'm afraid, as they are not particularly sought after ponies.

Here's a link JayCee which might help you figure out the price

. They are all Haflingers and from the brief look I took, most are around the £1,500 - £2k mark:

I agree with JoBo on price....... a good ride and drive are hard to find .... my friend has been looking for a year now and has not even had a sniff at this sort and type .... plenty smaller and plenty a lot bigger...... so if you are not interested then I know someone who is>>>>>

Take a look at the Horsemart link I provided /\ .....and I wasn't even looking - it was just the first site I ran a search on. I'm sure there will be loads more available if you search further.

Your friend should be able to find a pretty decent Haflinger for much less than 4K.
